Dwindling interest could end Meadows Festival

It is one of Edinburgh’s biggest and longest-running community events, but the Meadows Festival could face demise if it doesn’t attract ‘new blood’ soon.

Known to attract crowds of up to 30,000, the fair has become a key event in the city park’s calendar since it was established in 1974.

But a dwindling committee board and lack of interest from volunteers could signal the end for the June event, which costs an estimated £20,000 to run.
