Danny MacAskill's flying... but grounded

Being grounded is certainly not one of Danny MacAskill's fortes.

He's far more at home somersaulting off railings, cycling up trees or tail whipping as high in the air as possible.

But in reality, the 24-year-old biking dare devil – who shot to fame last year with a phenomenal video posting on YouTube, watched more than 13 million times globally – is surely one of the most down-to-earth men in the Capital.

Not even the offer of a part in a Hollywood film has phased him – even if it is directed by a man responsible for some of the biggest blockbusters of the day.

"It's so cool," MacAskill says. "But it's not a dream come true for me – it's not why I ride my bike.

"I'm not driven by money. I just want to be the best I can, continuing making videos to prove the first wasn't just a one-off."
