Daniel O'Donnell fans are camped out for tickets

With temperatures just above freezing, few people would pick February in Edinburgh for a night's camping.

But diehard Daniel O'Donnell fans are made of sterner stuff – with some even prepared to sleep for outside the Usher Hall for two nights to ensure they can buy the best seats in the house.

Pauline Brown, 50, and a friend were the first to arrive yesterday afternoon, but they expect at least six more fans to join them today, all well prepared with warm clothes, umbrellas and sleeping bags.

They will be first in line to buy tickets for May's concert when they go on sale at 9am tomorrow. The popular Irish singer is visiting Scotland for one night only during his UK-wide tour.
