Composer Glass to bring smash hits to Capital

An award‑winning composer is set to perform some of his most acclaimed work in the Capital later this year.

Philip Glass will appear at the Usher Hall for a concert in June. The American composer, born in 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland, has been described as one of the most influential composers of the 20th century.

Commonly labelled as "minimalist", he has been described as "the most powerful composer of our time".

He has composed music for films including The Truman Show and Notes on a Scandal.

The Philip Glass Ensemble: An Evening of Chamber Music with Philip Glass, Wendy Sutter and Mick Rossi is being held at the Usher Hall on 23rd June.
