The colleagues of fallen fire-fighter Ewan Williamson are to take to the streets in his memory by completing this year's Bupa Great Edinburgh Run.

Members of Green Watch at Tollcross fire station will join colleagues from Bathgate fire station to raise funds for the Ewan Williamson Memorial Fund and The Fire Fighters Charity, which supports those injured in the line of duty and their families.

Members are training between their shifts for the race on 2nd May, and hope their efforts will prove a fitting tribute to Ewan, who died on 12th July last year as he battled the Balmoral Bar fire in Dalry Road.

Crew manager Ronnie McIntyre said: "It was suggested that it would be worthwhile putting a team in to run in the 10K to help keep awareness of Ewan's Memorial Fund going and we were happy to volunteer to do that."
