City set for good karma as club opens

posted 24 Aug 2009, 03:36 by David Rintoul

A new nightclub is set to open in the Capital's West End on Friday.

Karma Nights will showcase chart and commercial music and will initially be open three nights a week – Friday to Sunday.

The club, located next to the HMV Picture House on Lothian Road, will then launch student sessions every Tuesday and Wednesday.

General manager Daniel Wylie said: "Everyone is very excited about checking out the new venue. There seems to be a lot of hype about Karma, what we stand for and what we have to offer – so much so that our Friday guest list is now full. We are offering something different to the customers and after they have visited the venue they will see that it's all about a great night out."

The club, which is owned by Helena Leisure, will feature state-of-the-art lighting and giant wall graphics. Local suppliers and tradesmen carried out the refurbishment work and more than 50 permanent jobs have been created for staff in the venue.
