Choir tunes up for debut

posted 15 Dec 2010, 04:50 by David Rintoul

A group of 15 novice performers from Edinburgh are set to make their public debut tonight as part of a new choir.

Edinburgh Voices, which came together in a series of workshops run by city-based music education specialist Most Entertaining, will perform in a free charity concert at Henderson's, on the corner of Princes Street and Lothian Road.

Vocal tutor Kira Emslie said: "The group met for the first time at the end of October.

"Most of them had never performed in public before but they gelled immediately, and after just a couple of sessions it became clear they had something really special. Their enthusiasm has been incredible and everyone has worked so hard."

The free performance will take place at 7.15pm.
