In the run‑up to World Aids Day, six composers will hear their Christmas carols for the first time in a unique concert.

The culmination of Waverley Care's "Sing a New Song" carol-writing competition, the event has been sponsored by Sir Tom and Lady Farmer and organised to mark the 21st birthday of the charity.

The concert will take place on November 27th at St Cuthbert's Church on Lothian Road. David Johnson, director of Waverley Care, said: "In our 21st birthday year, we wanted to organise an event which would leave a musical legacy."

World Aids Day is on December 1st.
