A group of bankers from Edinburgh's Barclays Commercial, Fountainbridge, are taking part in a charity event for children, LifeCycle.

Ten members of staff and four clients hope to raise funds for CHAS and Children's Hospices UK by taking part in the event, which got under way last month.

The group are cycling various stages of the 940-mile John O'Groats to Land's End bike ride, which ends on Saturday.

Edinburgh-based Jamie Grant, head of leveraged finance at Barclays Commercial in Scotland, said: "With Barclays' matched funding on top of our sponsorship efforts, we hope to raise as much money as we can for all the children's hospices.

"The life-limited children we are supporting are such an inspiration and we are proud to have this opportunity to make a difference to them and their families."
