Bank branches set for closure

posted 19 Aug 2009, 04:56 by David Rintoul

Bank of Scotland is set to close several branches, as it prepares to open its long-awaited flagship base in the city centre.

Its new branch, on the corner of George IV Bridge and the Royal Mile, is to open in the new year.

The bank is considering closing branches at Castle Terrace, Lothian Road, Holyrood Road and Chambers Street, although it insists there will not be job losses.
