Today in History
1814:
'Waverley', by Sir Walter Scott, was published. Waverley was Scott's first novel, and written mainly as a way of proving himself a superior literary talent to Byron. Although it was published anonymously, it was an open secret who the author was. The book was a runaway success and Scott became regarded as the leading author in Europe.

Bruntsfield Short Hole Golf Club - 24th April 2008

Congratulations to William Wright on winning the Opening Competition on a dry but rather cold night!
Also congrats to Paul Middleton who had the lowest Scratch score.
The Course is looking well with the greens in very good condition, even better than some golf courses!!
