Display of Goods for Sale on Public Footways
The Council has received complaints about goods for sale on the public footway outside your shop.
Please note also that neither the Council nor the Police can give permission for goods for sale to be displayed on the footway. The law concerned is the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, Sections 129 & 59. If you would like to discuss this further please contact Geoff Sim on 0131 529 3738. You will be able to obtain independent advice from your solicitor or from the Citizens Advice Bureau – your local branch will be listed in the telephone directory.
