Coarse fishing on the Union Canal
You will find Pike, Roach, Perch, Tench, Dace, Common Bream, Silver Bream and Ruffe in the Union Canal.
There is no close season. Stretches of the Canal are leased to angling clubs.
Any method coarse fishing. Two rods max, three rods max when pike fishing. Fishing from tow path side only. No fishing within 25 metres of any lock or swing bridge.
Permits from LCAPS (Lowland Canal Angling Partnership Scotland) C/o British Waterways, Lowland Canals. Falkirk Wheel, Falkirk. Tel: 01324 671217. Their office is now located at the Falkirk Wheel complex. Yearly permit (from date of issue) adults £15 Juveniles £3 (2005).
