City garden blooms after Lottery boost THE Scottish Wildlife Trust threw open its wildlife reserve in Edinburgh's Johnston Terrace so the public could see the transformation brought about thanks to a £7000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund's "Breathing Places" scheme. Visitors took the chance to learn more about the wildlife on the reserve and how to create wildlife-rich habitats in their gardens. Over the last 12 months the reserve has been planted with native nectar-rich plants to encourage bees and other pollinating insects, new homes for wildlife such as bat and bird boxes have been put in place.
