THE walls of St Cuthbert's Church echoed with the sound of not one but 18 double basses.
Adrian Bornet, a member of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra called in at the church in Lothian Road for a bass masterclass as part of the Edinburgh Festival of Music, Speech and Dance.
The festival provides an opportunity for performers and audiences to learn from specialists. Competitive and non-competitive classes allow non-professional performers to receive constructive feedback from masters such as Adrian who are specialists in their field.
Adrian spent two years at the Royal College of Music and, after freelancing in London he became choirmaster at St Giles Cripplegate before joining the SCO.
