Listed buildings in city centre are set to be refurbished

TWO listed buildings in Edinburgh's city centre are set to be refurbished, thanks to grants from Edinburgh World Heritage.

Under their Conservation Funding Programme, the group has provided £12,575 to fund work at the B-listed 4-8 Elm Row. The property is part of a scheme designed by Playfair in 1821.

They have also provided £23,970 to replace missing railings and rebuild front walls at the B-listed 5-7 Cambridge Street, which dates from 1863.

One of the original railings still survives, and will be used as template for the replacements.
