The fault with the lighting was reported to the council in January by David Rintoul, chairman of the Tollcross Community Council, but the problem has only just been rectified.

Mr Rintoul spotted the re-illuminated landmark on Friday.

He said: "It really makes a difference to the clock and brightens up the whole area and it's really nice to see.

"It's taken months just to get a new light and then, all of a sudden, it comes back on Friday 13th."
