    Man has mobile phone and cash stolen

A 26-year-old man was robbed of cash and his mobile phone in Edinburgh yesterday afternoon (October 14).

The victim was walking from Drummond Street to Infirmary Street via the connecting lane at about 4.30pm.

As he entered the lane, he noticed three people, one woman and two men, drinking in the lane. As he passed the group he was punched by the two men and knocked to the ground.

The woman searched his pockets and stole the mobile phone and a small amount of cash.

The suspects then made off into Drummond Street and were lost to sight. They are described as follows:

1. Female, white, 24-26 years, slim build, pale complexion, long blonde hair tied in a ponytail, spoke with Edinburgh accent.
2. Male, white, 40-45 years old, 6', heavy build wearing a denim jacket, white t-shirt and jeans, Edinburgh accent.
3. Male, white, 30-40 years, 5'9", medium build, short gelled black hair, Edinburgh accent.

The victim went to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to a cut to his head.

A police spokesman said: "We would appeal to anyone who may have seen this incident to contact police."
