Owner to move other controversial unit into cellar...
A WEST End restaurant has seen its bid to install a controversial air conditioning unit outside its back door put on ice by councillors.
Bosses at Abstract, on Castle Terrace, had applied for permission to keep an air conditioning condenser in a communal courtyard at the rear of the restaurant. They had originally installed two units but moved one of them inside a kitchen cellar following noise complaints from neighbours. Now members of the city's planning committee have stalled the bid and will ask the restaurant's owner to try and move the other unit into the cellar as well.
