Device would help many people with skin disorders

A NEW self-test kit to measure food intolerance has been hailed by an Edinburgh nutritionist.

It is hoped the appliance, called the Food Detective MINI, will help eczema sufferers identify what foods worsen their condition.

Sarah Stelling, a consultant for the Edinburgh Centre for Nutrition and Therapy in Home Street, Tollcross, said the device launched by Cambridge Nutritional Sciences, would help many people with skin disorders.

She said: "In practice I have found food intolerance very frequently implicated in clients with eczema or other skin disorders.

"By removing identified intolerances, replacing them with balanced alternative food choices and ensuring the body has the nutrients it needs to heal, has brought about impressive results in many of my clients."
