A WEST End restaurant has removed a noisy air conditioning unit from the back of its premises after it was refused planning permission.
Bosses at Abstract – which hit the headlines because of its former chef's appearance in Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares – said they had moved two noisy air conditioning units from outside the restaurant into a kitchen cellar after councillors agreed to take enforcement action.
The two condenser units at the back of the restaurant were put up without planning permission earlier this year. Residents protested against the bid for retrospective approval.
The council's planning committee said it would enforce their removal.
Owner Barry Larsen said: "The offending unit is now inside the building rather than outside the rear of the restaurant.
"We have been working very closely with the council's environmental services to sort out this problem as we want to be a good neighbour."
