Appeal for witnesses after man assaulted Friday night
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Edinburgh on Friday night (27th July). The man was walking in the company of a friend along Leamington walk (Bruntsfield Links) when they were approached by two men who asked the victim for a light for a cigarette and then without warning attacked him. A 32-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he was treated for his injuries. Both men are described as white. The first man is described as 19 to 21 years, 6ft 2inches tall, short spiky hair brown hair, medium build and wearing long sleeved white shirt and blue jeans. The second man is described as being 18 to 20 years, 5ft 3inches to 5ft 5inches tall, short light brown spiky hair and wearing long sleeved yellow hooped shirt and blue jeans.
