Ahead of their first keenly awaited UK performance at this year’s showpiece Military Tattoo, 60 members of New England's iconic fife and drum ensemble will appear in full ceremonial attire.

They will gather at the Quadrangle of Edinburgh's City Chambers to honour the Scottish Capital’s first citizen, Lord Provost George Grubb, at 11am on Monday, 30th July, 2007.
Lord Provost Grubb, Chair of the Board of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, will that morning experience a little something of the melodious flavour of the Middlesex County Volunteers' unique collection of folk and classically trained musicians – with a repertoire mainly drawn from sources predating 1800 – while dressed in authentic reproduction New England Continental Army apparel from 1779.
This elite unit will bring a touch of colour to proceedings as well as provide an early glimpse of what is likely to be one of next month’s highlights at the 58th Edinburgh Tattoo (3rd-25th August).
