Police have praised members of the public for helping them detain several male youths following an incident in Edinburgh last night (July 22nd).

Officers were called following a report of a disturbance near the tennis courts in The Meadows at about 7.45pm.

Police attended and thanks to the excellent response from several residents three 15-year-old youths and a 14-year-old youth were detained.

They have all been arrested and charged and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
