    Police appeal for victim to come forward

Police are appealing for the victim of an assault that took place in Edinburgh on Tuesday night (July 17th) to come forward.

The assault happened outside the National Gallery in Princes Street, at around 7pm.

Two male youths have been charged as a result of the incident being caught on CCTV, but the victim has not been identified.

He is described as white, and around 14-years-old. His attackers were of a similar age, and both had dark hair.

One was wearing a grey hooded top and tracksuit bottoms, and the other wore a navy blue top of a similar style.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: 'We are very keen to trace the victim of this assault, and we appeal for him to come forward to assist our enquiries.

'We would also appeal for anyone who witnessed the assault, or who was in the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious, to come forward.'
