Police are trying to trace the next of kin of a man found dead in his Edinburgh flat yesterday (July 5).

Nigel Swanson, 46 years, of Clearburn Road was found dead at midday by a neighbour.

Police have been unable to find any next of kin or relatives. They know he was born in Edinburgh and might have a mother who lives in East Claremont Street.

It is possible he might have an ex-wife or partner who lives in Dunbar.

A police spokesman said: 'We would ask anyone who might have known Mr Swanson or where his relatives stay to contact police.'

There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
