New Gallery space hopes to attract more people...

The National Trust for Scotland (NTS) is delighted to announce the opening of the Gladstone Gallery – on the 2nd floor of Gladstone's Land – one of NTS's top attractions.

Fiona Murray, NTS Property Manager at Gladstone's Land comments: "The team here are very excited about this new development. For years, we've welcomed tens of thousands of visitors who're keen to know what life was really like in 17th century Edinburgh.

Completed in 1620, Gladstone's Land is a typical example of an Edinburgh Old Town. And now, with our new Gallery space, we hope to attract even more people.

Located at 477B Lawnmarket, the Gallery is in a prime location and is accessed via the turnpike staircase at the front of the historic building."

"Three Harbours Collective, a group of artists (Adele Conn, Adele Robertson, Andrew Crummy, Tom Ewing, Eddie Anderson, Maggie Fraser, Lynn Shroder and Paul Dalrymple), are renting the space until the 6th of August.

All of the artists are from East Lothian and all have previously exhibited at the Three Harbours Festival. The works on display at the Gladstone Gallery include a selection of contemporary Scottish paintings and sculpture."

The new space has proved to be very popular indeed with artists - the Gallery has been hired by various artists up to the 10th of September. NTS is thrilled to annouce that the Gladstone Gallery will be an official Fringe Venue this year too!

Gladstone's Land and the Gladstone Gallery are open daily from 10am to 7pm.
