
The 21-year-old male victim a Rickshaw driver was cycling along the Cowgate at around 10:30pm, when two men approached him demanding he hand over his money and Rickshaw.

He refused and was then punched and knocked to the ground. The two men then stole the Rickshaw and cycled off towards Holyrood road accompanied by three other men who were not involved.
The Rickshaw driver along with another member of the public chased the two men and found the Rickshaw abandoned in St. John's Street.
Both men are described as white, 20 years of age the first man is described slim build, 5-foot nine inches tall, short hair, wearing an earring in his left ear, black trousers and blue and white striped hooded top. The second man is described as 6-foot tall bushy eyebrows wearing brown hooded top and wide/loose.
A police spokesman said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault, or saw these two men cycling on the Rickshaw or leaving it in St John's Street."
