Today in History

1913: Scottish novelist, Oswald Wynd, was born. Wynd was born in Japan to Scots parents. He lived there for most of his youth and acquired joint citizenship. Wynd's most well-known work is 'The Ginger Tree', the tale of a Scotswoman's life in Japan in the early part of the century. He also wrote thrillers under the pseudonym Gavin Black.

South Central Neighbourhood Partnership Public Meeting

Members of the public are invited to a meeting of the South Central Neighbourhood Partnership meeting on Monday, 12th May at 7.00pm.

Neighbourhood Partnership Logo

Residents living in Ward 10 Meadows / Morningside and Ward 15 Southside / Newington will meet at the Methodist Central Hall, 2 West Tollcross at 7pm.

Tee, coffee and biscuits are available from 6.00pm along with staff from the Council and partner services if you wish to raise any local issues with them prior to the formal meeting.
