Frank Boyle has been the cartoonist of the Edinburgh Evening News since March 1999, working under intense pressure to produce a daily cartoon that is both topical and funny.
The exhibition charts his progress over the last nine years, at the same time providing us with a potted history of Scotland since devolution.
His wide ranging cartoons draw on both the intensely local, such as the sale of Jenners, to the major international events of our time including the Iraq War.
Feeding on the rich vein of satire served up by Holyrood in post-devolution Scotland, Frank Boyle has used his pen as a needle to gently prick the pomposity of the Edinburgh establishment.
Frank Boyle studied illustration at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, and later spent a year working for D C Thomson in Dundee.
The influence of Scottish strip cartoons in the Beano and the Broons is also apparent in his work. During his fruitful period with the Evening News, Frank Boyle has been awarded Scottish Cartoonist of the Year twice, in 2002 and again in 2006.
One thing is certain about this exhibition - you will walk away smiling.
