Sisters doing it for themselves as first Ladyfest comes to city
THE first Ladyfest to take place in Scotland is coming to the Capital.
The Edinburgh Ladyfest aims to be a showcase of women in music, art, comedy, photography, film, debate, and the written and spoken word.
It has previously been held in other cities around the world, including London, Washington and Seattle.
The programme includes live music, films and debates taking place throughout May.
Highlights include Wicked Wenches, an all-female comedy night at the Stand in Queen Street hosted by Scottish author AL Kennedy, while a debate about the acceptance of breastfeeding in society will also be held, entitled I Make Milk – What's Your Superpower?
There will also be a discussion about the sex industry.
Any profits generated will be donated to Zero Tolerance, the Edinburgh-based campaign against violence against women.
Ladyfest Edinburgh runs from May 4th until May 31st.
