New neighbourhood was unveiled in Queen Anne Room
The vision for the area was conveyed to the audience through a short film, with the final shot closing on the neighbourhood’s name, Springside. Through interviews with local residents, politicians and the development partners, the film explored the history of the Fountainbridge area before outlining the future plans for the area. When complete, the eight-acre site will provide 650 new homes and 140,000 sq ft of high-quality space for 2,500 jobs. The first development phase, which incorporates a public park, central courtyards and two new tree-lined avenues linking Fountainbridge and the West Approach Road, was approved by the City of Edinburgh Council earlier in the month. Springside Edinburgh is a joint venture between AMA, Grosvenor and RBS.
