Woman robbed in city centre car park
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed in the NCP car park in Castle Terrace, Edinburgh last night (April 10th). The 48-year-old was returning to her car through the Kings Stables Road entrance on the ground floor, and preparing to pay at the machine, at about 8.15pm, when two men approached from behind. One of the men then grabbed and threatened her. He demanded she drop her purse - which he picked up - and hand over her handbag, which she did. The pair then ran out the exit. The first suspect is described as being white, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall, in his early 20s, of slim build. He was wearing a black or dark blue thigh-length jacket, with a grey hoody underneath, blue jeans, and black shoes. The other man is white, around 5ft 7ins tall, in his late teens or early 20s, of slim build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket that came below waist-length, grey tracksuit bottoms with a white flash down the calf, and black trainers. Police believe the incident may be linked to robberies in Canning Street and Shandwick Place recently. A police spokeswoman said: 'Although she was not hurt, this was a terrifying ordeal for the woman to have gone through. It is important these men are caught soon and brought to justice. We would urge anyone who recognises the description, or who saw what happened, to get in touch with us.'
