Lauriston Medical Practice will receive £500,000
THREE Lothians GP practices are set to benefit from a £1.145 million funding boost. The NHS Lothian funding has been allocated to the Lauriston Medical Practice, Muirhouse Medical Group in Edinburgh and Newton Port surgery, Haddington. Jackie Sansbury, director of strategic planning and modernisation at NHS Lothian, said: "This funding is great news for NHS Lothian and the communities we serve. This will allow us to continue to improve services for the people in the Edinburgh south central, north west and East Lothian communities." David Small, general manager of Edinburgh Community Health Partnership, said: "This additional funding allocation is welcomed as it provides a significant boost for three local GP services in Edinburgh and East Lothian." The Lauriston Medical Practice will receive £500,000 to convert an existing building into a new medical centre. The Muirhouse Medical Group has been awarded £525,000 to expand the current facilities and accommodate the growing population in Granton. And the Newton Port surgery has been awarded £120,000 for additional accommodation for a further four consulting rooms. The funding was awarded to NHS Lothian by the Primary and Community Care Modernisation Programme of the Scottish Government. Previous Tollcross Articles
