Man injured after collision on pedestrian crossing
Police are trying to trace a woman driver whose car was in collision with a pedestrian in Edinburgh city centre. The accident happened at about 11.15am on Wednesday January 30 as the 38-year-old man was walking across the pedestrian crossing at the junction of North Castle Street and George Street. The driver, who was in a dark-coloured family saloon possibly a Ford, stopped her car and got out to speak to the man. He said that he was alright and she drove off. However the man subsequently went to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for a check up and it was discovered he had an injury to his elbow and neck. The woman is described as being white, aged between 30 and 40 years, with shoulder length brown hair and in casual dress. A police spokesman said: 'We would like to trace the woman motorist so we can establish exactly what happened.
