SHOPPERS in Tollcross are set to benefit from around 50 new short-term parking bays.

Council chiefs have unveiled plans to create a mixture of pay-and-display and shared-use bays around the Tollcross area after lobbying from the local traders association.

The plans involve changing bays on seven streets in Tollcross, including Gilmore Place and Brougham Street.

The plans have been put out for consultation and the changes are likely to take place in the summer.
