One of City's top hotels to dish up deep-fried Mars bars

ONE OF Edinburgh's top hotels is to dish up deep-fried Mars bars as part of its Burns Night celebrations.

The five-star Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa said the infamous "Scottish delicacy" would be on offer for over a week in the hotel, as part of a special taster menu.

The idea is to give guests the chance to try classic Scottish recipes old and new, as well as some favourite whiskies.

For dessert, in what hotel chiefs describe as "a homage to one of Scotland's best loved culinary traditions" a deep fried Mars bar, expertly prepared by the hotel's top chefs, will be served.

The menu, called A Wee Taste of Scotland is available from today until Sunday, January 27th, in The Sheraton's Exchange Bar.
