Today in History

1754: Golf was formalised at St Andrews with the foundation of the St Andrews Society of Golfers. Twenty-two ‘Noblemen and Gentlemen’ contributed to a silver club to be played for annually over the Links of St Andrews. The first winner was Baillie William Landale, a St Andrews merchant, who became Captain for the year.

You’ll soon be turning those bogeys into birdies!
PuttingWe make your round easier - winter golf coaching with Edinburgh Leisure. New courses commence January 13th...

Have you always wanted to take up golf, but didn’t know how? Or are you trying to squeeze a few extra birdies onto your scorecard?

If so, Edinburgh Leisure has a winter coaching course for you! Throughout the winter months we run a wide range of courses for all ages and abilities at our Craigentinny Golf School and a number of our sport and leisure centres.

The Beginners course is perfect if you’re looking for an introduction to golf. And if you're trying to improve your game you can attend our adult improver lessons and get the chance to use computerised swing analysis or even take the opportunity to receive an on-course lesson.

We’ve even got courses for parents and children - what better way to spend quality time together?

So, with a little help from us you’ll soon be turning those bogeys into birdies! And with 6 golf courses across the City, we have plenty of room for you to practice!

Our 6 week courses start from as little as £35 for juniors and £55 for adults.

So what are you waiting for? For more information click here, telephone Colin Hutchison on 0131 652 2178 or email golf@edinburghleisure.co.uk. You can also contact any of the following venues:
