41 year-old last seen at her home in Livingston
Police are appealing to the public attending the Hogmanay Street Party in Edinburgh to trace a missing woman.
Aileen MacGillivray, 41 years, was last seen at her home in Livingston by her family at 3am on Saturday (December 29th). She is described as 5ft 2ins tall, with shoulder length brown hair, slim build, possibly wearing 3/4 length, almost white, sheepskin jacket which maybe worn over a smaller brown jacket. She was also wearing blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and a yellow-coloured wrist watch. Aileen is considered vulnerable and went missing earlier in the summer. Posters of Aileen will be distributed at tonight's Hogmanay Street Party in the capital. A police spokesman said: "Aileen has not been seen for more than 48 hours now and police and her family are concerned for her welfare. She is vulnerable and we would urge anyone who may know where she is or recognises her description to contact us immediately. "People from all over Scotland come to Edinburgh for the Street Party and we hope someone may recognise her from the posters we are distributing." Members of the public are asked not to approach her but any sightings should be passed to Lothian and Borders Police. Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
