Savour the special atmosphere and pay no more...
Scotland supporters will be able to savour the special atmosphere of the RBS 6 Nations Championship at Murrayfield in 2008 without having to stump up any extra cash.
For the third successive year, Scottish Rugby is freezing ticket prices for the tournament widely lauded as the sport’s “jewel in the crown.” Fans will pay exactly the same as they did the last time France and England visited the home of Scottish Rugby in 2006 – matches that resulted in momentous victories for Jason White and the Scotland team. Tickets are priced at £30, £45 and £60 for adults; and £15, £22.50 and £30 for under-18s. Scotland remains the only home nation to offer those child concessions in all seats. Scottish Rugby’s Chief Executive Gordon McKie said: “Revenue from international rugby matches at Murrayfield is vitally important in helping us to fulfil our objectives to enhance our game in communities throughout Scotland. “But, as ever, we must strike a balance between using those monies for the betterment of the game and still try to make international rugby at Murrayfield accessible to the widest possible audience and that’s why we have again decided to freeze ticket prices.” Scotland face France on Sunday 3rd February (kick-off 3pm) and the auld enemy, England, in the Calcutta Cup on Saturday 8th March (kick-off 3.15pm). For the French match the concession rates will also apply to students. Concession tickets for under-18s, available only through schools and clubs’ youth sections for both matches, also remain frozen at just £10. As announced previously there will be no public sale of tickets for the Scotland v England game. The available tickets for sale – after Scottish Rugby has allocated to Debenture Holders; Scottish rugby club members; and other key stakeholders – are going into a ballot open to those supporters who bought tickets for the Bank of Scotland Corporate August Tests. Public sale of tickets for the Scotland v France game begins on Wednesday (29th August) at 9am in person from the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre, Roseburn Street, Edinburgh; via the credit card hotline (Tel: 0131 346 5100) or online at www.scottishrugby.org.
