The firing of the One O’clock Gun will not be the only magnificent sound emanating from the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle this weekend.

Some of the world’s greatest performers, past, present and future descend on Scotland’s capital city to play in Edinburgh Castle, one of the country’s most breathtaking venues.

The music begins tomorrow evening, 12th July, with a special acoustic gig by upcoming Scottish singer/songwriter Amy Macdonald in the Jacobite room at Edinburgh Castle.

Fresh from her acclaimed performance at T in the Park, the Castle will be the final stop in a special one-day Scottish tour to mark the release of Amy’s second single, Mr Rock and Roll.

For exclusive audiences only at each location, the tour includes Mount Stuart and Culzean Castle before culminating with a unique evening performance at Edinburgh Castle.

On Friday evening (13th July), the music moves to the esplanade as Historic Scotland and Castle Concerts present the world famous (and indeed world class) American band; Blondie.

With a career spanning over 30 years it is easy to say that Blondie and front woman Debbie Harry are one of the truly legendary bands of the 20th century. As their only show in Scotland this year and with over 20 top ten records, this will certainly be a show not to be missed, packed with hits such as ‘Hanging on the Telephone’, ‘Heart of Glass’, ‘Maria’ and ‘Atomic’.

Special guest support on the night will be Echo and the Bunnymen, the Liverpudlian post-punk group whose greatest hits include The Cutter and The Killing Moon.

On Sunday evening (15th July), it’s time to get the party started as the multiple award winning and multi-platinum selling PINK rocks the Castle esplanade. Performing her first ever concert in Edinburgh and playing to a sell-out audience as part of her ‘I’m Not Dead’ World Tour, Pink’s sensational set will include all her smash hits; ‘Nobody Knows’, ‘Stupid Girls’, ‘Trouble’ and ‘Get The Party Started’.
