Leave trees at side of bins alongside rubbish
CHRISTMAS trees are being taken away for recycling by the city council.
Residents can leave their trees at the side of their bins alongside rubbish. A similar scheme last year saw 60 tons of trees picked up across the city in just four days. Alternatively, residents can take trees to a community recycling centre, or leave then in brown garden waste bins.
Councillor Robert Aldridge, environment leader, said: "Participants in the garden waste collection scheme can cut up their tree and put it in the brown bin. "Trees can also be taken to one of the city's four community recycling centres along with other post-festive recycling, such as glass bottles, packaging and unwanted electrical goods. "Finally, we are also operating a collection service to recycle the trees which are presented with the weekly domestic waste." Previous Tollcross Articles Source: Evening News
